We spend a third of our lives asleep, making our bedroom the place we spend more time than anywhere else in the world. Don’t you think it deserves some TLC? We’re not talking ripping walls down or installing a water feature – adding a few simple touches can change the look of your bedroom in no time. We’ve rounded up our top 5 bedroom refresh ideas that’ll be as easy on the eye as they are on your wallet.
A Lick Of Paint – But Just A Touch
If you want to create more depth to your bedroom, paint one wall a different colour. Bonus points for rejuvenating a chimney breast or the wall behind your bed. This dark navy is spot on trend and will add warmth to your bedroom with very little effort.
If you’re in rented accommodation and painting is impossible, opt for a gallery wall instead.
2. Freshen Up With Foliage
House plants can help to purify air, increase moisture levels and help you breathe more easily. Plus, they look amazing. Not only can you choose which plants best suit your bedroom, you can completely customise the look with stylish hanging planters, baskets and pots to show your style.
3. Spruce Up Your Sheets
Buying new sheets is a great idea if you’re wanting to transform the feel of your bedroom without spending a fortune. Investing in quality styles mean you can get a better night’s sleep too. Our Pebble sheet set features subtle polka dots to liven up the look of your bedroom, plus the 500 thread count lies perfectly between the balance of comfort and quality for money. Choose between single, double, king and super-king sizes to get the perfect fit. One particular trend that’s easy to follow is mixing and matching, choosing a different colour fitted sheet to your duvet cover.
4. Modernise With Mirrors
This is a simple yet effective one, especially if you’re lacking on space in your bedroom. Mirrors make rooms appear lighter and generally enhance the decor. According to Feng Shui you should place them opposite a window to reflect the light and bring good fortune… We’ll take 5!
5. Light Her Up
Lighting isn’t just a bedroom necessity, it’s now become a way to express style. Adding a bedside lamp or floor lamp is a great idea for refreshing your bedroom. 2018 sees the return of marble, Moroccan design and brass – time to swap out the copper and rose gold.

With the English rainy weather rearing its ugly head again, I’ve decided to take the plunge and start with the 100 happy days list – mainly so I can remind myself it’s not all about the drizzle!
Day one comes courtesy of my family, who recently went away to Spain. Much to my delight they returned with a whopping great bag of mini Toblerones, which if i’m honest I polished off in a single sitting.
So, as I was munching on my treat flown all the way from Spain, I started thinking about the women over there, and how they manage to stay looking so good with delicious chocolate and – hello – tapas, so readily available? The style over there seems to have massively evolved from the ol’ Flamenco dresses, in fact some of Spain’s biggest stars seem to be leading the way in terms of fashion.
If you haven’t already seen her knocking about in the papers, this is Elsa Pataky – wife of Aussie actor Chris Hemsworth. Here she’s nailing the floaty trouser look, a style which is likely to run through from summer to autumn. I’ve found a pair on boohoo.com that are definitely on my want list!
This lovely lady is Paz Vega, Spanish actress and model. She looks fantastic in all white, and the look is easily achievable with a few clicks on boohoo.com.
It would be wrong to feature a post on Spanish fashion without including Penelope. Although she’s not oh so popular at the minute, she’s still got style. The midi dress is a summer must-have, perfect for nights out, fancy meals or even heading down to the beach. I’m loving this one from boohoo – fingers crossed it’ll end up in my suitcase soon!

Today’s outfit of the day is powered by the likes of Missguided, Primark and Topshop – with the most expensive item coming in at £15, so I saved a pretty penny in the process!

I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve ever won anything in my entire life. Well actually, once I won a huge jar of sweets at a school fair, but then I left the jar on the window and all the sweets melted into one giant gooey mess… Anyway! Last month I was lucky enough to win a Friday ticket to the Wireless festival AND an outfit of my choice, courtesy of the lovely people over at Red Label. I decided to go for a bright, floral kimono (which I’ve worn about ten times in the last 2 weeks), and a gorgeous crochet playsuit.
The festival itself was AMAZING – my personal favourite moment had to be Kanye West’s rant, which I’m sure you’ve all heard about… It was totally worth misplacing my phone!
Fortunately, before my iPhone went walkabout, I managed to get a few snaps of the lovely clothes I was so lucky to win. Thanks again to the lovely ladies at Red Label

Another week, another bargain from Missguided! I bought this playsuit a while ago but have only just got round to wearing it (TGI sunny). I decided to keep the cost of the outfit down and style it with Primark-only accessories, and mix up the feminine pinks and florals with an edgier black kimono and my trust black 90s-style platforms.

I’d been dying for the weather to brighten up a bit so I could finally get my new Missguided playsuit out of the wardrobe, and low and behold the sun finally made an appearance this weekend!
I love the layered effect – you don’t know initially whether it’s a playsuit or co-ordinates! The pretty flowered edges add the perfect touch to an otherwise simple style, and the biggest bonus is that it’s not at all see-through, which is something I’ve found with other white playsuits before. It feels really well-made, and it sits perfectly on.
I decided to keep things simple and style it with white sandals, although I think it’d look really good with chunky platforms for a night out too. Although I haven’t got any holidays booked at the minute (boo), this little number will definitely be making the suitcase-cut when I finally get into gear and go somewhere! Bring on St Lucia*

I’ve had these Missguided shorts for a while now, and I’m so glad it’s finally warm enough to wear them! I’m really into lace at the moment, so between these shorts and the H&M cropped shirt I’m in wardrobe heaven. I had to get the shorts a size bigger than usual, so bare that in mind if you try them out for yourself.
The shoes are my new favourite go-to’s – I picked them up at Primark for £15!
